Facebook just went sour for me

Hmmm... after reading With friends like these ... I think I'll look around nervously and sneak out of the Facebook community.

The article echoed a lot of nagging doubts I've had about it - reasons why I've not plunged in quite as whole-heartedly as a lot of friends and family. The balance between what one puts in and what one gets out just doesn't seem all that weighted in my favour.

FaceBook

I read that article [from the link] and noticed one flaw - it's written for people who can think. When I showed it to a couple of FaceBook users, they didn't get past the first few paragraphs. One skipped to the end and said, "It's ok if the CIA read it, after all they're just protecting us"!

Maybe it's a generational thing: I grew up with analog clocks [and so have a clear perception of elapsed time and time remaining, which you just don't get from a digital clock] and radios with tuning knobs [which make changing station a considered and laborious choice, unlike digital tuners with buttons and presets] And another thing - I remember when round here it was just limited fields, none of this open-page scroll bar nonsense...
